The English speaking clinical psychologists at Tokyo Counseling Services are all qualified JSCCP Clinical Psychologists licensed to practice in Japan. Our English speaking psychotherapists are qualified and registered by The Japan Federation for Psychotherapy.
Counseling and therapy services are currently provided in English, Japanese, German, Korean and Portuguese for all residents in the Tokyo metropolitan and Kanto region.

Andrew is both a board licensed Clinical Psychologist in Tokyo and Japan and a qualified JFP Psychotherapist in Japan. He provides person centered counseling (PCC) , integrative psychotherapy (IP) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help people suffering from anxiety disorders, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, major depression, bipolar disorder, alcohol and drug abuse problems, adjustment disorder, anger problems, crisis management, abuse, trauma, domestic violence, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), minority issues, multicultural issues, couples and marriage problems, personal problems and relationship issues. Helmut is a German born New Zealander who completed his masters degree in health science at the Auckland University of Technology. His approach as a counselor and therapist is grounded in depth psychology. He applies cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques and proactive interventions according to what is most appropriate to the client?s circumstances. As a board certified Clinical Psychologist in Japan and a JFP Psychotherapist Junko uses an Integrative Psychotherapy (IP) approach with her clients with an emphasis on Person Centered Psychotherapy (PCP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She specializes in Parallel Counseling with a psychiatrist to assist treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, major depression, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia and PTSD.

Nicolas is an Austrian Psychologist who completed his masters degree and theoretical post graduate Education in Clinical Psychology at the University of Vienna. Before relocating to Tokyo he worked in Austria and Brazil. As a counselor and therapist he applies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Depth Psychology based Techniques. Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar disorder, Panic disorder, Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD), PTSD and Alcohol Abuse. He provides counseling and therapy to English, German and Portuguese speaking clients.

Taeko received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in Tokyo and Japan in 2005. In her work as a board certified Clinical Psychologist her basic approach to counseling utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She places great emphasis on establishing a positive and genuine working relationship with each individual client. To this end she integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a Person Centered Counseling (PCC) approach. Anxiety, depression, major depression, eating disorders. Ms Kakurai received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from New York University and is a qualified and registered Clinical Psychologist in Tokyo and Japan. She provides individual counseling to adolescents, college students, adults and couples with personal issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, major depression, relationship problems, trauma, stress management, career planning, cultural adjustment, and inter-cultural relationships and international marriage issues. Keiko graduated in Psychology from Antioch University, going on to complete her post-masters training at the University of Washington. She returned to Japan in 1999 and relocated to Tokyo where she went on to qualified as a JSCCP Clinical Psychologist and JFP Psychotherpist. Keiko is experienced in Japan and the United States in assisting people in multicultural environments with a wide range of emotional and psychological problems including stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, major depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, trauma and PTSD.
